«It is hard to carry, but it is a pity to throw away» - you do not want your hand luggage to be like this. Therefore, it is important to choose a light, compact, but roomy suitcase. Depending on its purpose, hand luggage differs in size. The other criteria: shape, material and color, everyone chooses for their own taste and belongings.

Material

Suitcases come in two types of material:

• Plastic. The base of the case is made of polycarbonate or polypropylene and clearly holds its shape, the contents of the suitcase does not crumple - this is its main advantage. In addition, it does not get wet, except in the places where the zipper is installed, if it is not protected. The weight of such hand luggage is higher than that of rag models. A plastic suitcase is easy to care for - just wipe it with a damp cloth.
• Fabric suitcases are more lightweight. The most common material is nylon and polyester. The fabric is easily cleaned from dirt, but stains can appear, which should be removed with special agents. Moisture impregnation protects against rain. A disadvantage of fabric suitcases is that they do not hold their shape well. If you put something heavy on top, the suitcase contents will be crumpled. On the other hand, if the fabric suitcase is not completely filled with things, it is more compact, and the plastic suitcase is always the same size.

Dimensions

Types of suitcase sizes:

• S - small, up to 55 cm. It fits a pair of shoes, two sets of light clothing and hygiene accessories. Often it can be taken with you in the passenger section of the aircraft.
• M - medium, 55 to 70 cm. Enough room for things for a week's vacation.
• L - large, from 70 to 77 cm. Suitable for long trips. Also in it you can put things more than one person for a short trip.

Suitcase with wheels

There are models of two modifications:

• Two-wheeled - moves on the principle of a cart. The suitcase is tilted by the handle and rolled behind you.
• Four-wheeled - these models have the lowest load on the hands. If the wheels can rotate 360 degrees, then such a suitcase can be rolled in any direction.

The internal equipment of the suitcase

The suitcase, depending on the model, may have such useful equipment:

• Elastic straps placed crosswise. Fixes things so they don't dangle in the suitcase.
• Internal compartments, zippered and unzippered pockets for small things you need quick access to.
• Reserve for expansion. To increase the volume of the suitcase, unzip the side zipper.

• A nameplate where you can enter the owner's details of your belongings.

What to pay attention to when choosing a suitcase:

• Functionality. Whether the suitcase can be carried as a bag by the side handle or only rolled on the ground.
• Handles. Often a small handle is on the top of the suitcase and on the side, so it's convenient to carry it on the train or carry it up the stairs. There is also a retractable telescopic handle at the top, by which to roll the suitcase. If the handles have soft pads, they are more comfortable to use.
• Zipper. The zipper should be quite massive. It is convenient when the zippers open and close in both directions. The bigger the clasp, the easier it is to move it.
• Latch latches. They close the suitcase, allowing you to quickly open the inside compartment.
• Suitcase locks. Install code models or TSA, a keyhole that customs officers have the key to. They can quickly open the suitcase for inspection.

In terms of colors, some people prefer discreet shades that don't show as much dirt. For some, the suitcase is an accessory for a style of dress and a certain image. It can be bright or with an original pattern.
