- 22.11.2022
Why does botulinum therapy effectively and quickly eliminate wrinkles? Wrinkles are formed due to muscle spasm, which pulls the skin and creates a breakdown of the skin. In order for it to unravel, you need to relax the tissues that lie under the skin and are connected to it. Currently, only Botulinum therapy can fully cope with this.
What is it?
Botulinum therapy is performed using botulinum toxin A. This substance blocks the nerve sensitivity of the muscles, and they do not contract. Thus, the spasm goes away and the wrinkle is smoothed out. This procedure is better known as Botox. The effect of the drug is temporary, so every 4-6 months the procedure is repeated.
Typically, botulinum therapy is used by women after the age of 30, or when there are pronounced wrinkles. Most often injections are made in the area of skin breakdowns on such areas of the face:
- Interbrow, forehead, nasolabial folds;
- Lip corners, sagging platysma;
- Lip corners, sagging platysma;
- "Rabbit wrinkles on the nose;
- Jawline - transverse wrinkle.
Benefits of Botox:
- The procedure is carried out no longer than half an hour.
- Quick effect. The muscle relaxes instantly, so the spasm is gone, the process of gradual smoothing of wrinkles begins immediately. The wrinkle is reduced with time, and the effect is evident in about two weeks.
- Long-lasting effect. The effect of the injection can last even up to 8 months. It is individual: it depends on how quickly the body eliminates Botox from the tissues and how quickly the nerve activity in the area is restored.
- There is no need for a long rehabilitation period. After the procedure, there may be a slight swelling in the area of injection of the drug. It disappears in 1-2 days.
What is the procedure like?
No special preparation is required. Botulinum therapy is performed as follows:
- The specialist selects the right dosage of Botox for the patient and determines the places where it should be injected.
- He carefully cleanses and disinfects the face.
- He injects Botox with a needle in the area of wrinkles.
- The master instructs the client on how to behave in the first few days after the procedure.
During the first 5 hours, it is not recommended to bend over the head and move it actively so as not to increase blood circulation in the area. Within 10 days you cannot go to the sauna, sleep on your stomach or drink alcohol. Antibiotics should not be taken within a month after botulinum toxin therapy.
Doesn't it hurt - injections in the face? Injections are carried out with special very thin needles, so the procedure does not cause discomfort. There is no need for anesthesia. Often the drug is initially placed in a syringe with a needle. This eliminates the contact of the needle with the external environment.
If botulinum therapy is performed by a qualified specialist and the dosage is chosen correctly, this procedure is considered safe. However, it is an invasive cosmetic method, so there are risks. If the technique of introducing the drug is violated, it can move and cause asymmetry, drooping eyelids or eyebrows, etc. Therefore, botulinum therapy is trusted only to professionals. If it is done by a friend at home or an untrained beautician, there is a high risk of complications.
