Sanskrine for the face: what it is, features, how to choose
- 22.11.2022
The sun not only warms, but also "bites". Its rays, if prolonged exposure cause burns on the skin. When the sun is at its zenith, this happens especially quickly. You need to protect your skin from the sun at all times of the day and year. Walking around with a special umbrella can be original, but not at all comfortable. That's why sanscreens are used.
What is a sanscreen
Sanscreen is the name of sunscreens, cosmetic products with SPF filters. They come in the form of creams, sprays and oils.
There may be several types of filters in the composition of sanskrins:
- Mineral substances - titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. They do not penetrate the skin, but remain on it after the absorption of the greasy base. This creates a physical barrier to the sun's rays. Therefore, sunscreens with mineral components have a slight plaque effect.
- Chemical ingredients. They act in the top layer of the skin and convert the sun's energy into heat, but the skin is not heated. It is important that saskrin use the latest generation of chemical components because older ones may not be safe, especially oxybenzone or benzophenone-3, avobenzone and octocrylene. They can lead to allergic reactions.
Features of sunscreens
The skin is affected by two types of sunlight:
- UVA - cause skin aging.
- UVB - lead to burns.
In order for a sanscreen to fully protect the skin, it should create a barrier against both types of the sun's rays. Then the risk of sunburn and negative skin changes will be reduced.
Types of sanscreens:
- Cream or lotion are the most common forms of sunscreen. They are pleasant to apply to the skin due to their oiliness and flowability.
- Sprays are sprayed onto the skin. Convenient when you need to quickly apply sunscreen.
- Oil is most often used at the beach due to its high oil content. It creates a pleasant sheen on the skin. It is most often applied only on the body, because oil can clog pores.
- Powders and foundations. These are the means of decorative cosmetics in which SPF filters are added.
How to choose a sanskrine
Take into account such nuances:
- For which areas the product is intended. Choose the appropriate areas of the face and body to get high sun protection and favorable cosmetic effects.
- Sunscreens are designed for different skin types: for oily skin - fluid, light non-comedogenic creams and sprays, for dry skin - nourishing, for sensitive skin - with a minimum of complex components. If there are no synthetic ingredients, sun protection may be less effective.
- The lighter your skin, the higher the level of protection you should choose. For fair skin, SPF 50 is ideal. For dark skin, SPF 15-20 is fine. SPF 30 is universal.
- Time of contact with the sun. For a short stay in the sun or when the sun is not at its zenith, SPF 20 fluid may be enough. If you go to the nature or the beach for several hours or all day, it is advisable to use sunscreen in the form of a cream or oil with SPF 30 or higher.
- It is better to use waterproof products when swimming in the sea, as chemical filters in sanskrins may be harmful to marine microflora, plants, fish, and other inhabitants.
You will need a sanskrine not only in the summer. It can be especially helpful in windy fall weather as it dries out your skin and makes it less protected from the sun's rays. Do you need a sunscreen in winter? Absolutely, especially if it's a snowy time. The sun's rays are reflected from the white coating, which intensifies their effect. You can get sunburned even faster than at the beach.
