Big-bags: what it is, types, application

Big-bags hold a very large volume of bulk materials and withstand a weight of more than 1 ton. The design of such soft containers has two or three slings - fastening elements. They simplify loading and unloading, transportation and loading into a car or warehouse. Big bags have the following elements:

• Lids.
• Tie-down assemblies.
• Valves.

They securely fix and isolate the contents of the bag. Thanks to this, when filling the soft container, loading and unloading it, the cargo does not spill out, there is no dust.

Polypropylene soft containers are resistant to friction and mechanical damage. It does not rot from dampness. The material is elastic, does not deteriorate from temperature fluctuations and is resistant to chemicals. The big-bag bag is airtight, so dust does not pass through it.

Types of big bags

Big bags come in single-layer and multi-layer versions. Inside the container there is often a liner made of polyethylene or other material. Big bags on four sides are equipped with slings with loops. These are used by forklifts to lift this soft container. Heavy duty bags with four slings. They distribute the pressure from the weight of the contents evenly.

The density of the fabric of the big bag for heavy loads should also be increased. Dense material is less likely to be damaged by contents with sharp edges. Bulk goods are placed in big bags with a polyethylene liner. It gives additional insulation and does not let the smallest dust through.

The design of big bags differs:

• Big bag has an open top and a closed bottom.
• A big bag has a top with an assembly, the bottom is tightly closed.
• Big bag has an assembled top, with a hatch at the bottom that opens.
• Big bag has an open top with a hatch at the bottom.
• Big bag has hatches on top and bottom.
• Big bag has a hatch on top, the bottom is closed.

The assembly on big bags is a cord that tightens. This allows the soft bag to be closed quickly. The hatch is a narrow socket. Thanks to it, bulk materials are unloaded neatly. In production, big bags with a hatch on top are used for packing on special stands.

Slings or loops can be built-in, cable or tape. The maximum load capacity of a bag is 2 tons. The capacity of a soft container is from 0.3 to 1.5 m³. Big bags are single-use and reusable.

Application of big-bag bags

These soft containers are used to transport and store packaged or loose goods:

• Building materials.
• Fruits and vegetables.
• Pasta, cereals and other foodstuffs.
• Various parts and spare parts.

Big bags are used to pack bricks, crushed stone and lumber. Cement, sand and construction mixtures are transported in them. In agriculture, they are used for transportation of grain crops, potatoes, mixed fodder. Big bags are used to transport or store mineral fertilizers, reagents, granulated plastic and other chemicals.

Big bags are also used for growing plants. In such bags there is a lot of space for the development of the root system. In them, seedlings that require delicate handling are planted. From a soft container it is easy to plant plants in the open ground.
