On buildings finished with brick, there are often white stains from the lime that is released from it. It is also a fragile material. It can crack from impacts. However, clinker bricks are made using a special technology. Thanks to this, it does not form lime streaks on it and it has increased strength. It is made from slate clay, which melts at high temperatures. The products are fired at 1200°. Thanks to this, clinker bricks acquire different shades and strength.
Features of the application of clinker bricks
When laying clinker bricks, it is important to take into account such features:
- The work is carried out at a temperature of at least 5 °. This is necessary for the mortar to dry evenly.
- For the laying of this material, a special glue is used. It binds the blocks together very firmly, while spending sparingly. On the fourth day, cement mixture is used.
- Before grouting, the joints are scraped. This is done no later than 30 minutes after laying the brick. The mortar should not have time to dry out. For scraping use a special small trowel and bury it 15-20 mm. A V-shaped furrow is formed. Later it is filled with grout of the desired color.
- The surface of clinker bricks can be of different texture. In places where there is a lot of dust, it is better to use glossy products. On them contamination is poorly retained, and the surface is easy to clean.
Clinker brick is convenient for facing facades that need to be insulated. First lay the insulation, then lay the brick loose to it. This leaves a small gap for ventilation. If necessary, you can disassemble the masonry to replace the old insulation with a new one.
